Professional Wedding Guild Luncheon at the Washington Duke Inn

We had a fantastic luncheon at the Washington Duke Inn on June 30, 2010.  This luncheon was hosted by Gail Galloway of the Professional Wedding Guild and The Perfect Wedding Guide.   These luncheons are held monthly and are a great way to see old friends and meet new ones. Nancy Nelson is one of my new friends, from It Works! , and awesome line of all-natural weight loss and nutritional products. The company also features a body wrap, which I sampled over lunch.  I volunteered to let Nancy wrap me, and I lost two inches in my waist!  This is a great product for a bride who is trying to lose  few inches before putting on that dress!   Also shown below is one of my favorite Dj’s, Brian McGuire of McSound  Productions .
All smiles for my camera is Gabriel Soltren of Soltren.net Video Production .
Held at the FABULOUS Washington Duke Inn
Beautiful and delicious desserts made by Donna Ford of Sweet Memories Bakery
Beautiful floral arrangements made by Floral Dimensions.
One of my favorite wedding officiants, Reverend Kayelily Middleton, caught in the act of taking a picture.
Look at the look she is giving me!  You should see the pictures she took of me!  Thanks, Kayelily!

Triangle Ladies Power Lunch

God gave me the gift of Photography, but not in writing.  Having said that, I am going to toss some pictures and do a little name-dropping to let you know what we have been up to!
Yesterday I had the opportunity to meet some awesome women at the Triangle Ladies Power Lunch , which was started by Carrie Peele, who also owns Blue Diamond Limousine . The luncheon was held at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center .
I made a few new friends, and had a great time listening to Van Eure, owner of the Angus Barn, talk about her experiences in running a business and having a family at the same time.  My new friend, Becca Smith, handed me her little camera and asked me to take a picture. I could not figure out how to operate the thing, but this is what came out!
I was not the event photographer, so I did not have my fancy equipment!  It was a scene trying to figure out how to use a point and shoot!
A few of my new friends also include Paige Ward, who is doing the Frill Seekers Bazaar at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park from November 5-7, 2010.  This is an awesome fundraiser to raise money for the Autism Society of NC .  We are working on setting up a booth for the event, so come by and say hello!
Oh, and I also met Penny Lauricella, who is the executive director of the Pretty In Pink Foundation , a non-profit organization to raise funds for breast cancer treatment.  We are currently trying to work on a fundraiser, so check back.

A Place called Wrightsville Beach

by Martin

Gina and I finally got to take our honeymoon, if you can call a weekend get-away a honeymoon. I’m not complaining, thank you Grand’ma! We checked in at Surf Suites in Wrightsville Beach, NC. The hotel is right next to the Oceanic Restaurant, where we shot our last beach wedding back in November 2009.   The weather was really nice this weekend,  warm enough to hang out on the balcony and get some rays during the day.  I woke up early the next morning, the sun was just coming up over the Atlantic. The surf was up, because it had been pretty windy, and there were already a bunch of guys riding their boards in the waves . Everybody was in wetsuits, the water was probably still pretty cold.  I decided to get my camera ready and almost ran towards the beach.  I think I was shooting for almost an hour until I went back inside for a well deserved warm cup of coffee.

My baby turns 5!

Okay, so I was totally dreading Chuck E Cheese, but I had more fun than the kids, and won big-time at the Skeet-ball game.  These are the highlights of my baby growing up!
